A number of additional surveys were conducted among respondents purchasing products from third-party suppliers regarding cooperation with organizations, the pros and cons of working with them. To begin with, we asked where respondents received information about suppliers. In first place with a clear leadership of 68% are jewelry exhibitions, the main advantage of which is the opportunity to see products live and face-to-face contact with managers. Second place with 55 percent is occupied by the websites of manufacturing companies, probably due to the full representation of the assortment and, accordingly, the breadth of choice.
The third most popular with a result of 31% are reviews of other companies. Internet portals and forums, as well as industry magazines, account for 23 and 26%, respectively. 58% of respondents do not use specialized sources to check suppliers. Among the remaining 13% use the Kontur.Focus system, 10.5% free data on Internet resources, 8% use bank services. SPARK Interfax, the Federal Tax Service Inspectorate and Jeweler-Info each received 5%.
Approximately 34% of respondents reported that there are unique conditions that may encourage cooperation with a jewelry company. The most popular condition is deferred payments; this factor is important for 38% of respondents.
The novelty and uniqueness of products is valued by 30% of reviewers. Almost a quarter of respondents noted the quality of products as an important condition. Also, 15% of the audience is gained by the presence of a commission agreement and price.
More than two thirds of respondents are interested in finding new suppliers. In 74% of cases, the decision on cooperation is made by the owner, in 16% by the commercial director, and in 5% by the hired director.
More than half of the respondents place orders with the supplier through the website or by sending an application by email to the manager. Slightly less than half are purchased at exhibitions or through field sales managers. About a fifth of clients go to the office at the plant or to the territorial office of the company. 15% use phone calls and communications via instant messengers to process applications.
Two-thirds of those surveyed have encountered the need to stop working with suppliers over the past year. Among the reasons for refusal to cooperate, the most popular is a change in working conditions. Price increases account for more than a third of cases of termination of cooperation. More than a quarter noted that an increase in the number of defects, as well as delays in delivery, are one of the reasons for stopping work. Among other reasons, respondents noted the non-updating assortment, the lack of the possibility of returns and exchanges, the departure of the manager and poor-quality document flow. In some cases, even the widespread distribution of this supplier's products could be a significant factor for refusal to cooperate. |
