Sarder stone. Description, properties and application of sarder

In nature, there are quartz crystals that belong to chalcedony, and sarder stone is part of their group. It is often called the “fire gem” because of its characteristic color. The hue of sarder is brownish, red, with red accents, hence the name itself. This stone is translucent, shiny, with a nasty silky texture. It has magical properties and healing qualities if worn as a talisman.

What is sarder

Sarder is a stone from the chalcedony group, a type of carnelian. The properties of sarder are similar to other carnelians. The characteristic that distinguishes it and is mentioned in the description is color.

A typical sarder is a dense, opaque or translucent mineral with a waxy sheen, burgundy-brown or yellow-brown.

Variants of mineral names: sardis stone, sard.

Agate, chrysoprase, heliotrope, sarder or sapphirine are all varieties of chalcedony.

Color spectrum

The color palette of carnelian is determined by the amount and valence of iron oxides contained in the mineral. Shades of the stone begin with a bright red (scarlet) color, reaching a calm yellow-brown and light, honey tone. Gems of a certain color are called differently:

  • red and scarlet are carnelian;

    Carnelian

  • yellow – lincuria;

    Lincuria

  • brown palette – sarders. Sarder

There are samples with light inclusions or spots. Sometimes these can be cloudy stripes of white or yellow. When a mineral is distinguished by contrasting, clear stripes, for example, dark brown layers are replaced by snow-white ones, it is sardonyx, not carnelian.

Red carnelians - carnelians

One of the most popular on the market is the red-orange carnelian carnelian. Their name from Latin (cornus) is translated as “dogwood berry”, since the gem really looks like it. The color of carnelians is also compared to the color of blood. The brighter the pebble, the higher its value.

Carnelian

Yellow carnelians – lincuria

Carnelians with a color ranging from light yellow to orange-yellow are called lincuria.

Carnelian lincurium

Chestnut carnelians - sarders

Dark red samples with a brownish or chestnut tint are called sarders. According to Pliny the Elder, the name of the stone comes from the ancient city of Sardis in Lydia.

Twenty-four thrones...

And around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and I saw twenty-four elders sitting on the thrones, who were dressed in white robes and had golden crowns on their heads. (Revelation 4:4)

We dealt with the seven star lamps above. These are the seven planets of the solar system. The time has come to find out who these elders are with golden crowns on their thrones. The fact that their thrones are located further than the seven lamps is understandable. But why are there exactly 24 thrones? No less, no more? This number is the key to the solution. Let's turn to astrology, because the answer to this question is there.

According to astrological science, in addition to the seven planets (wandering stars), there are fixed stars that are located much higher, or rather, on the Eighth sphere of the Universe. This sphere is called Firmamentum (Latin: Firmament). However, only twenty-four (!!!) stars of the night sky are called guardians of the sky! Why? Because these stars belong to the brightest fixed stars, which have been especially taken into account by astrologers since ancient times. Astrologers divided these 24 stars into two groups: 12 guardians of the Southern sky and 12 guardians of the Northern sky. I give a list of all these guardians of the sky according to their brightness.

12 Guardians of the Southern Sky:

Sirius Canopus Toliman Rigel Achernar Hadar Acrux Antares Fomalhaut Mimosa Adara Shaula

12 Guardians of the Northern Sky:

Vega Capella Procyon Betelgeuse Altair Aldebaran Spica Pollux Deneb Regulus Castor Arcturus
So, these are the very twenty-four “thrones” on which “elders with golden crowns sit”!

Place of Birth

Its volcanic origin has made the mineral widespread.

Deposits on all continents are impressive:

  • The largest ones are in China, the Czech Republic, Iceland, the USA, Brazil, and Uruguay.
  • Raw materials are mined in Madagascar, India, and Australia.
  • In Russia, industrial-scale production has been established in Eastern Siberia, Buryatia, Yakutia, and Chukotka.

Sardis from different deposits of the planet are almost identical.

Stones are inexpensive, there is no shortage, so exploration of new deposits is irrelevant.

Jewelry with mineral

Carnelian is loved by jewelry makers. But since the stone is inexpensive, it is used for inlaying jewelry or silver items. Indian craftsmen set the stone in bronze, brass or medical alloy.

Silver products are affordable and very beautiful. Any woman can afford such jewelry. The average cost of such accessories is approximately as follows:

  • Rings, rings – 2500-4500 rubles.
  • Earrings – from 2 to 4 thousand rubles.
  • Pendants are sold in the range from 1500 to 4500 rubles.
  • Bracelets are a little more expensive - from 3,500 to 8,000 rubles.

Carnelian beads are also in demand among handmakers. Therefore, you can always buy handmade designer jewelry for yourself or your loved ones. In addition, figurines and other pleasant little things, in particular talismans and amulets, are carved from any type of stone.

Compatibility with other materials

The restraint of the color scheme of carnelian forces stylists to combine it with other materials in jewelry. Most often these are semi-precious stones:

  • agate;
  • amethyst;
  • hematite;
  • rhinestone;
  • quartz;
  • coral;
  • chrysoprase;
  • citrine;
  • jasper.

Gems enliven the “heavy” main stone, making large bracelets or beads suitable for people of different ages and any occasion.

Carnelian jewelry in folk, ethnic or youth styles is complemented with leather or wood. These components are inexpensive and have little effect on the cost of the product.

Stylistics

The mineral is considered a favorite of creative bohemia, which helps them to be more relaxed and express their talents more clearly.

Eye-catching large jewelry looks great on clothes with red accents, making a person bolder and more attractive. This style is suitable for events that require personal creativity and a non-standard approach.

Accessories of a restrained palette and design are worn to the office - a simple bracelet and beads in one thread, earrings with a large insert. Decorations in costumes of folk, ethnic, youth, boho and similar styles are organic.

How to distinguish

Plastic is often offered under the guise of sardines. You can distinguish imitation using classic methods for natural stones:

  1. Hold it in your hands. The stone is initially cold and heats up slowly.
  2. Assess massiveness : even dense plastic is lightweight compared to stone.

Sometimes colored or heated colorless chalcedony becomes sarder. This is conditionally considered a fake, since the base is natural. Only a specialist can distinguish such an origin.

Morning star...

Thus says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, He who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: And I will give him the morning star. (Revelation 2:1,28)

Morning Star... interesting reward. Again a symbolic allusion to the Sun. Why? The Sun is the closest star to us - the center of the solar system around which the planets revolve. This star appears in the morning, unlike other stars that appear only in the evening. In the morning, as you know, they disappear, since that same “morning star” appears. For example, the Slovenians called any stars dawns, including the morning star. Among the Hindus, the Sun deity is named Surya. It was from Surya that the word Zorya came.

Surya (Zorya) - the sun god in Hinduism

In the Christian tradition, the morning star refers to the fallen angel Lucifer, who previously occupied a very high position in the highest heavens, from which he was cast down. In the Vulgate, the Latin translation of the Old Testament Book of the Prophet Isaiah (chapter 14:12), he is called Lucifer, which is literally translated as the one who “brings light.”

Quomodo cecidisti de cælo, Lucifer, qui mane oriebaris? corruisti in terram, qui vulnerabas gentes? (Vulgate)

How you fell from the sky, Lucifer, son of the dawn! crashed to the ground, trampling the nations. (Synodal translation)

By “Lucifer” and “Daystar” the Bible translators did not quite correctly translate the Hebrew word הילל - Helel. The word Helel, consisting of two words hel and el, is suspiciously reminiscent of the name of the ancient Greek god of the Sun - Helios (Helios). The first part of the word is the name of the solar god, and the second is the word meaning "god" in Semitic languages. It turns out that Helel means Helios the god.

The above translations are not exact, although the Latin word Lucifer - “bringer of light” serves as a corresponding metaphor for the rising daylight - the morning star, i.e. what causes the day - the light part of the day. After all, it is the morning star the Sun that brings (therefore “Lucifer”) daylight in the morning in the east (therefore “Daystar”).

Helios (Helios) “bringer of light” - the god of the Sun.

By the way, from the name of the god Helios (Helios) came the words in some languages meaning Hell, i.e. Underworld:

  • hell - in English;
  • hölle - in German;
  • helvede - in Danish;
  • helvete - in Norwegian;
  • helvetti - in Finnish.

Magic properties

Like any quartz, sarder is endowed with the properties of a talisman against external influences (even magical attacks).

In magic, the color of the mineral matters:

  • Red sarder is a symbol of love, fidelity, family hearth. He will not allow scandals or betrayals in the house. He also gives ladies sexual magic.
  • Brown sardis makes men masculine with a bit of brutality.
  • Orange helps you concentrate on a task or information.
  • The brown-yellow gem awakens creativity.

Sarder turns a negative into a positive. Therefore, as a talisman it is suitable for people prone to despondency or self-examination.

Fans of Eastern teachings consider the mineral a suitable tool for meditation.

Like jasper and sardis...

And immediately I was in spirit; and behold, a throne stood in heaven, and on the throne was one who sat; and this Seated One looked like a jasper and sardis stone. (Revelation 4:2,3)

The deity sitting on the throne was like two precious stones: jasper and sardis. To reveal this symbolism, you must first find out what kind of stones these are, and most importantly, what unites them? Jasper is an obsolete name for jasper, and sardis or yakhont are obsolete names for ruby. But what unites them is their color! Both jasper and ruby are red-colored stones, ranging from yellowish-red to purplish-red.

Jasper - jasper Sardis - yakhont - ruby

Red is one of the colors of the Sun in symbolism. We read about this color in the same encyclopedia of symbols:

red represents the Sun and all the gods of war.
This is the masculine active principle, fire, Sun, royal birth, love, joy, celebration, passion, combustion, energy, cruelty, sexual excitement, marriage torch, health, strength, but also blood, bloodlust, guilt of bloodshed, anger, revenge, martyrdom, perseverance, faith, generosity. Can also be the color of desert and disaster. Gods were often painted red to emphasize their supernatural power, sacredness, or solar power. For the Aztecs, fertility is the color of blood, but also desert, evil, misfortune; among the Celts - death, red horseman, disaster; among the Chinese - Sun, phoenix, fire, summer, south, joy, happiness, the happiest of all flowers. This is the color of Phoebus as the solar deity and Ares, the god of war, as well as Priapus, known as the Red God.

By the way, jasper stone was used as an amulet to protect eyesight and from drought. And again there is symbolism pointing to the Sun. In astrology, the Sun is responsible for vision, especially the right eye, and dryness, heat and heat are controlled by the daylight - the Sun.

Fire, blood and death...

Chapter seven of the Revelation of John the Theologian is a real panegyric to the Sun God. And the eighth and ninth chapters testify to the author of the book not only as an ardent sun worshiper, but also about his evil nature, reaching the point of sadism. I will list some words and epithets from the 8th and 9th chapters of the book. They are all associated with fire, smoke, brimstone, blood, death, lions and gold - symbols of the Sun God.

  • incense smoke;
  • golden censer;
  • golden altar;
  • fire from the altar;
  • fire mixed with blood;
  • and her teeth were like those of lions;
  • a large mountain blazing with fire;
  • the third part of the sea became blood;
  • the voice from the four horns of the golden altar;
  • a large star burning like a lamp;
  • some of the trees were burned, and all the green grass was burned;
  • and smoke came out of the well like smoke from a great furnace;
  • from the fire, smoke and brimstone coming out of their mouths, a third of the people died;
  • horsemen who wore armor of fire, hyacinth and sulfur;
  • The heads of the horses were like the heads of lions, and from their mouths came fire, smoke and brimstone.

King of Kings…

The nineteenth chapter depicts the "King of Kings" with clearly solar symbols.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and he who sat on it was called Faithful and True, Who judges righteously and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems. He was dressed in clothes stained with blood. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, with which to smite the nations. He shepherds them with a rod of iron; He tramples the winepress of the wrath and wrath of God Almighty. His name is written on his robe and on his thigh: “King of kings and Lord of lords.” (Revelation 19:11-16)

If the churchmen begin to convince you that the gospel Jesus, and not the deity of the Sun, is riding here on a white horse, then this will be a blatant lie. Why?

The Sun God is “King of kings and Lord of lords.”

Firstly , the one who was in the body of Jesus about 2000 years ago was not the sun god. Why then does the above description include “flame of fire”? The Gospel Jesus is known for always walking like a commoner. Why is he here on a “white horse” - the symbol of a military leader?

Jesus was known for his exceptional love of peace. It was to him that the words “return your sword to its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword” (Gospel of Matthew 26:52). Why then does the one sitting on a horse “fight”? And isn’t it because of the many people he killed that his clothes are “stained with blood”?

Jesus, being very peace-loving, was also known for his meekness towards ordinary people and, only as an exception, was harsh towards religious leaders. The Gospel of Matthew 12:18-21 says that Jesus fulfilled the following prophecy of Isaiah: “He will not rebel, he will not cry, and no one will hear his voice in the streets; he will not break a bruised reed; and in His name the nations will hope.” Why then does a “sharp sword to smite the nations” come from the mouth of one sitting on a horse?

Jesus called himself the good shepherd: “ I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

“(Gospel of John 10:11) Then why does he who sits on a horse “shepherd entire nations with a rod of iron with fury and wrath”? Not with a kind word, but with a rod, and even an iron one? Iron in symbolism has a very bad meaning, associated with violence, aggression and all the gods of war.

It is also known from the gospels that Jesus always refused the royal throne, even when they wanted to forcibly make him king in Jerusalem. Because one of his tasks was to teach the truth, which would free the common people from the lies of religious authorities, and not to be the one who reigned over people. Then why is Jesus supposedly called the “King of kings”, who “has many diadems on his head”? That is, he is called the supreme king of all other earthly kings. Are they all his students?

And the most important proof that Jesus cannot be the one who rides the horse in the book of Revelation is found in the words of Jesus himself, recorded in the Gospel of John (chapter 8:23). Literally translated from ancient Greek, his words sound like this:

“You are from this world. I’m not from this world (Greek: κόσμου - space).”

Question: how can someone who himself declares that he is not from this world (cosmos) simultaneously be the “King of kings and Lord of lords” of this world?

Secondly , it was the Sun God, among many religions of antiquity, who was the King of all earthly kings. For example, the ancient Egyptian pharaohs, the ancient Roman Caesars, the Persian sultans, and the Japanese emperors were considered images and viceroys of the supreme deity in the pantheon of gods - the Sun God. Why exactly was the Sun God the main deity of all sun worshipers? And what star do his subjects—the planets of the solar system—orbit around? Around the Sun! Just as the lion is called the king of all animals, so the Sun is called the King of all kings.

In addition, it was the solar gods who were always portrayed as warriors who, with the help of various kinds of iron weapons, defeat their enemies. Whether it was the German Thor, or the Slavic Perun, or the Assyrian Ashur, or the Roman Sol invictus (Latin: Invincible Sun), they all resemble the “King of kings and Lord of lords” described above.

Thor (Perun) - the sun god defeats his enemies.

Moreover, it is precisely to the Sun, which is the center of our planetary system, i.e. world, after all, the words “from this world” are better applied. In contrast to Jesus, who, according to his own words, is “not of this world.”
