The entire high-jewelry collection Jeweled Vault from the British court supplier Garrard is inspired by the almost mythical image of Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna, daughter of Alexander II and wife of the Duke of Edinburgh Alfred, son of Queen Victoria. After her wedding to the prince, the princess moved to Great Britain with a huge dowry of jewelry, which was then kept in Clarence House. The peculiarity of Jeweled Vault is that each piece of jewelry is built “around a stone”: ruby, sapphire, emerald. “We only add to the collection when our gemologists find a new outstanding specimen,” says Garrard creative director Sarah Prentice.
