Online charts of the compulsory medical insurance rate in Sberbank of Russia for today + quote dynamics and forecast

I am glad to welcome my readers again! Precious metals are an asset that always remains valuable and even rises in price during crises and cataclysms, which cannot be said about money. But it comes with many inconveniences. You need to store the bullion somewhere (some are still buried in dachas), but it won’t be possible to sell it today even in case of urgent need. Fortunately, information and banking technologies provide us with an alternative.

The compulsory medical insurance rate at Sberbank today is an unstable thing. Today gold falls in price, tomorrow it rises in price - it seems that it is too late to buy it, because yesterday it was cheaper. But what if in a week it will cost 30% more?

Online course schedule

Theoretically, you can buy metal blindly and wake up a billionaire the next morning. In practice, very few people in history have succeeded in doing this. If we want to save money and increase it, it is worth familiarizing ourselves with exchange rate fluctuations and their dependence on the state of the world economy.

Gold

Despite periodic ups and downs, the gold rate is growing steadily. Since 2000, its cost per troy ounce has increased from 300 US dollars to more than 1,000, rising to almost 2,000 in 2012.

Silver

Some experts consider silver to be an undervalued metal. There is actually much less silver on the market than has been mined in the history of mining. This is due to the fact that most of it is used for industrial needs. Nevertheless, silver today is included in the list of precious metals and is also considered a profitable investment.

Palladium

Palladium is a metal needed by the mechanical engineering industry. Its center in Russia is Chelyabinsk and the Chelyabinsk region. Demand for it is stable, because even in times of historical turning points, people need cars, machine tools, electronics and medical equipment. All this means that there is no need to fear a depreciation.

Platinum

Platinum is the rarest of the four investment metals and the three that perform a monetary function (palladium coins appeared only in 1966 and were not in active circulation). In 2015, at the peak of its value, it was more expensive than gold. However, those who did not cash out their platinum accounts in hopes of future growth were mistaken: the growth was followed by a sharp decline. Nevertheless, today platinum is more expensive than before 2015.

Fundamental analysis of the platinum market

Platinum heads the platinum group of metals, which includes palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium and osmium. These metals are similar in chemical properties and are found in nature in the same deposits. Because of this, the markets for platinum metals are connected - companies extract several metals from the mines at once.

For a long time, scientists could not find a use for platinum. At the beginning of the 18th century, it was added to counterfeit gold and silver coins. Because of this, Spain even imposed a ban on the import of metal from the colonies in South America, and the accumulated reserves were flooded into the sea. After 40 years, the ban was lifted, and the Spaniards began minting counterfeits to support the economy. At the beginning of the 19th century, platinum deposits were found in the Russian Empire. Tons of mined metal had to be put somewhere, so the idea of making money out of it arose - platinum coins appeared in 1828. Over time, this was abandoned; platinum never became the third monetary metal along with silver and gold.

In the 21st century, platinum is used in automobile production and other industries, as well as in jewelry. Demand has remained more or less stable in recent years, but its structure is changing noticeably:

Source/IR in Excel

The most volatile part of platinum demand is investment: bars and coins, ETFs and stock exchanges. When prices look attractive to buy, investors begin to buy platinum and demand reaches record levels - this was the case in 2022 and 2022. A more detailed picture of investment demand:

Source /

At the beginning of the pandemic, the demand for investment platinum was huge, and a year and a half later, in the 3rd quarter of 2022, investors began to take profits en masse - after all, the price almost doubled, if you count from the minimum price of $650 in March 2022. In 2022, low demand for investments in platinum is expected: the outflow from ETFs will continue, the main investments will be through bars and coins.

Traditionally, about 35% of platinum consumption comes from autocatalysts. These devices are responsible for neutralizing harmful substances in vehicle exhaust gases: carbon monoxide CO, nitrogen oxide NO₂, hydrocarbons and other particles. Palladium is used today for gasoline engines, and platinum is used in catalysts for diesel cars.

After 2016, the demand for platinum catalysts began to fall due to Dieselgate - in 2015, environmental violations were revealed in 10 million diesel cars, which is why countries began to introduce bans against this type of engine. According to forecasts, the production of diesel cars will begin to be completely stopped in 2025. In 2020-2021, there was also the coronavirus crisis, due to which car production fell around the world, and accordingly, the demand for catalysts too.

The second major application of platinum is jewelry, which accounts for 25% of the metal. There is also a drop in demand here:

Source /

The drop is primarily due to poor statistics for China. A few years ago, cheaper platinum jewelry was popular in this country, but now the Chinese have become richer and prefer gold. True, the demand for jewelry in general has fallen due to Covid problems.

Another 30% of platinum is consumed in various industries:

Source /

During 2022, double-digit growth was observed in almost all industries, with manufacturers beginning to switch to platinum where possible. Today the excitement has dropped slightly and the forecast for industrial demand for 2022 does not look very promising.

As for platinum mining, the Republic of South Africa dominates the world market:

Source /

Problems in production have a strong impact on the entire market. For example, in 2014 there was a 5-month strike at mines in South Africa, and in 2022 the coronavirus hit. Today there are no particular problems, so a record level of production is expected in 2022. Against the background of low demand, the market balance shifts towards surplus:

Source /

In 2022, only a slight increase in demand and a decent increase in production are expected, so the surplus is likely to remain and will further put pressure on prices.

Dynamics in recent years

By 2022, experts predicted an increase in the price of metal assets, linking the increase in the exchange rate with the aggravation of the trade confrontation between China and the United States. By mid-2022, this war reached its climax - both states imposed duties on the import of goods, the amount of which amounted to billions. The conflict has not yet been resolved; negotiations on the situation are ongoing.

Contrary to forecasts, all metals fell in price, and the owners of compulsory health insurance felt this for themselves. Perhaps the reason is that the dollar has strengthened in the global foreign exchange market.

If we take statistics over the last 10 years (from 2009 to today), we will see that all metals have risen significantly in price, despite repeated drops and increases in exchange rates, sometimes sudden and large. See how this happened in the graph:

Platinum price forecast for 2022

Should you buy platinum in 2022? To answer this question, first consider the macroeconomic factors influencing its prices:

  • Inflation in the US is projected to be high over the next few years, and this is a positive sign for precious metals as production costs and demand for defensive assets are rising. Gold is the best metal to hedge against inflation, but platinum isn't too bad.
  • Interest rates are projected to rise throughout 2022 to guard against rising inflation. For platinum, like other precious metals, the most important thing is the US Federal Reserve's interest rate - and it will rise to 1% by the end of 2022. So far this will not greatly affect the attractiveness of platinum as an investment instrument, but the trend is negative.
  • The likelihood of a financial crisis remains quite high - the global economy is full of problems: inflation, pandemic, disruption of supply chains, energy shortages, etc. Platinum usually falls during crises due to decreased demand.

And then let’s remember the situation on the platinum market itself:

  • Demand for platinum fell during the pandemic and is yet to recover to previous levels in 2022.
  • Platinum production in 2022 is expected to be the highest in recent years.
  • The cost of platinum mining will rise due to inflation.
  • The market balance in 2022 will be in the surplus zone - more platinum is mined than the market needs.

In summary, my forecast for 2022 looks like this:

There are several positive signals in the platinum market, but serious growth should not be expected due to the large surplus.

What do you think? Take part in two polls and leave your price forecasts for the first and second half of 2022:

After the forecast for platinum in 2022, we will consider how and where it can be bought for investment.

What is an impersonal metal account and what metals can be purchased

An impersonal metal account (abbreviated as OMS) is a financial instrument that allows citizens today to open a fixed-term (deposit) or perpetual (demand) deposit. It differs from a ruble or foreign currency deposit in that it is settled in grams of precious metal, and not in monetary units.

The investor thus becomes the owner of silver or palladium, but only virtual. When carrying out operations under compulsory medical insurance, the individual physical qualities of the metal are not taken into account: the number of ingots, sample, manufacturer, serial numbers. However, it will not be possible to withdraw funds from compulsory medical insurance in the form of real metal.

When opening compulsory medical insurance, the investor is traditionally offered 4 metals to choose from:

  • Gold.
  • Silver.
  • Platinum.
  • Palladium.

Leader of the Russian banking system

Among commercial organizations engaged in financial transactions related to the purchase or sale of precious metals, the leader is Sberbank of Russia. A quarter of the assets of the Russian banking system belong to Sberbank. A financial institution is characterized by:

  • stability;
  • time-tested reliability;
  • online access;
  • enjoys credibility among investors;
  • developed network of branches;
  • occupies a monopoly position in the banking sector.

More than 45% of depositors trust their savings to Sberbank, which has a long history and a reliable structure. The cost of precious metals is determined by the situation on the world market. The established currency ratio traditionally reflects the quotations on the domestic market.

The cost at which metal is purchased today for compulsory medical insurance is not taken out of thin air and depends not only on the Sberbank exchange rate. The initial (first) price is set by the London Precious Metals Exchange (LME) based on the results of trading by the main participants in the world market (today there are 13 companies). Every day at 14:00 Moscow time on weekdays, the Central Bank of Russia publishes precious metals rates on the official website cbr.ru. Quotes of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation are formed on the basis of quotes from the London Stock Exchange.

The metal exchange rate according to the Central Bank of the Russian Federation also depends on the second factor - the ruble exchange rate to the US dollar today. The fact is that the exchange sets the price in US dollars per ounce, and the Central Bank - in rubles per gram. An ounce is always equal in mass to ~31.1 g, which cannot be said about the ruble, because its exchange rate is constantly changing and has been especially unstable in recent years. Therefore, even with the same price of gold on the LME, the rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation today may differ quite significantly from yesterday.

The quote on cbr.ru is the second price. There is also a third one - the one that the end consumer, a private investor (for example, me or you) focuses on. The bank, as a commercial organization, works to make a profit, so it slightly changes the price assigned by the Central Bank. Gold and silver are bought from the population at a price below the exchange rate, and sold at an inflated price. The difference - the spread - is the bank's profit.

The law does not regulate the procedure for determining the spread for compulsory medical insurance, so in theory, Sberbank can set any prices. Fortunately for you and me, there is interbank competition, and an organization that sets a draconian sale price will simply be left without investors.

Sberbank adheres to the “golden mean” principle in relation to the spread - this is one of the reasons why depositors choose it to open compulsory medical insurance. The second reason is the reputation of Sberbank. In the minds of the majority of the population, he is reliable enough to trust him with funds.

Types of investments in gold

What can the monster of the domestic gold market offer us, private investors?

Compulsory medical insurance

Unallocated metal accounts are now successfully offered at Sberbank. They were very popular earlier, during the era of total growth in the gold rate.

Now the demand for them has noticeably decreased, especially with the emergence of other ways of investing in gold on the Russian market.

However, with skillful investment, compulsory medical insurance today brings a stable income. Although it is relatively small, it nevertheless exceeds the profitability of a bank deposit and often even exceeds inflation.

Ingots

Here Sberbank has no competition. It is the oldest player in the physical gold market. Its reputation is so high that gold bars purchased here will be gladly taken from you at any other bank.

The range offered today by Sberbank is very diverse. These are measured “bricks” weighing from 1 g to 1 kg, as well as standard ones - for those who like heavier specimens. Their weight varies in the range of 11–13.3 kg. Gold is sold only with a certificate and must be stored with the same care as the metal itself.

Investment coins

The range of investment coins offered by Sberbank is periodically updated. Therefore, it is better to check their availability, and at the same time the current exchange rate, in the catalog on the bank’s official website.

Which investment method is more profitable?

Of the options considered, the purely investment one is, of course, the opening of compulsory medical insurance. Today, both in terms of liquidity and profitability, it confidently outperforms the others. The only condition is that you need to understand that this account is opened for at least a year, and preferably for 3-5 years, in order to achieve maximum profitability.

If you close your account early, you will not only not make a profit, but may even end up at a loss. Therefore, gold investments require a balanced, unhurried decision. Gold is not a good instrument to speculate on.

Forecast

Today, most experts believe that precious metals will continue to rise in price, but there will not be a sharp increase in the exchange rate. They present both arguments related to all metals (mainly geopolitical) and individual ones (increasing inflation of paper money, finite reserves of precious metals).

For example, there is a version that by the end of 2022, platinum will practically displace palladium from the production of autocatalysts. This will lead to an increase in its demand, and consequently to a strengthening of its position.

Ingots

Measured ingots are Russian-made ingots with manufacturer's markings and a pure metal content (fineness*) of at least 99.99% and weighing from 1 to 1000 grams. This is the bulk of small-weight bars available for purchase through Russian banks.

Fineness is the proportion of the base precious metal in the alloy. The test shows the number of parts of the noble metal being tested per 1000 parts of the alloy.

GOSTs establish not only requirements for the appearance, weight, and marking of the ingot, but also determine the maximum total presence of impurities for various grades of precious metal, but without standardizing the content of an individual component.

There are no Russian GOST standards for palladium ingots!

Measured gold and silver bars

For measured gold and silver bars, the requirements are established by GOST R 51572-2000 and GOST R 51784-2001, respectively. According to these standards, Russian-made measured gold bars and measured silver bars must meet the following requirements:

  1. GOSTs establish the maximum deviation of the ingot mass, the size of the ingot sides (length and width) for each weight. The thickness of the measuring ingot is not standardized. In addition, the standards allow the production of ingots of other sizes, weights and even shapes as agreed by the manufacturer and the customer.
  2. The surface of the ingot must be free of fat deposits, burrs, cracks, delaminations, slag and other foreign inclusions.
  3. The surface of the ingot may be concave and wavy due to temporary shrinkage during metal crystallization.
  4. Each bar must be clearly and legibly marked on the face. The imprint of inscriptions on ingots can be convex or depressed, depending on the manufacturing technology of the ingot. Merging of letters and numbers in markings, as well as corrections, is not allowed. It is allowed to apply a trademark or other symbols of the customer to the surface of the measured ingot by agreement with the manufacturer. The front side of the ingot must contain:
      the inscription “Russia” in an oval;
  5. nominal weight of the ingot in grams (1);
  6. name of metal (“GOLD”, “SILVER”);
  7. mass fraction of precious metal in the ingot (sample) (2);
  8. manufacturer's trademark (3);
  9. bar number (4) (for bars weighing 50 grams or less, the bar number can be printed on the reverse side).

Platinum bars

Platinum bars weighing from 5 to 500 grams must comply with GOST R 51704-2001, according to which:

  1. GOST establishes the dimensions of ingots (length and width) for each weight with a maximum deviation in weight. The thickness of a platinum ingot is not standardized. It is allowed to manufacture ingots different from those described by the standard (in size, weight and shape) by agreement between the manufacturer and the customer.
  2. The surface of the ingot must be free of grease deposits, cracks, cavities, delaminations, burrs and inclusions of foreign particles. The reverse side can be matted.
  3. Platinum ingots must be made in stamped form.
  4. The marking of the bar must be clear and legible, without merging of symbols or corrections. The imprint of the inscriptions on the ingots must be convex. Additional symbols (trademarks) of the customer are allowed on both the front and back sides of the ingot. Required elements for marking a platinum ingot on the front side:
      the inscription “Russia” in an oval;
  5. nominal weight of the ingot in grams;
  6. name of metal (“PLATINUM”);
  7. mass fraction of platinum in the ingot (sample);
  8. manufacturer's mark;
  9. code (number) of the ingot (for small-weight ingots up to 100 grams inclusive, it is allowed to put the ingot number on the reverse side).

Advantages and disadvantages of compulsory medical insurance

Compulsory medical insurance, like any financial instrument, has its pros and cons. The advantages of a metal account include:

  • High liquidity with relatively low risks.
  • No costs for transportation and storage of ingots.
  • No need to pay VAT.
  • Relatively small spread.
  • Absence (most often) of bank commissions.
  • Low entry threshold (from 1 gram for current compulsory medical insurance).

Flaws:

  • There is a problem with interbank transactions under compulsory medical insurance (if you opened an account with Sberbank today, you will not be able to transfer metal to VTB).
  • Inability to transfer grams from one compulsory medical insurance to another.
  • You will have to file a tax return yourself.
  • Lack of insurance.

The last minus is the most significant. He is one of the reasons why most investors in compulsory medical insurance today choose Sberbank: in conditions when you can lose everything, reliability becomes more important than profit.

Ask a Question

The advantage of physical gold is its tangibility. No matter what happens in the world, you will not cease to be the owner of a valuable metal, which in the event of cataclysms or other crisis phenomena will only increase in price.

Physical gold can become damaged or rust if storage conditions are not maintained. By the way, if investment coins (for example, the ill-fated “George the Victorious”) can rust due to an incorrect production process, then with bullion this is almost impossible, because Sberbank gold is 999 fine and has no impurities at all.

How to make money on compulsory medical insurance

If you have chosen a speculative strategy, then you will have one tactic that has not changed since the first money appeared. Buy cheaper, sell more expensive - that's the whole secret. The only difficulty is predicting the course - even experts tend to make mistakes.

There is complexity. If you often withdraw money and buy metal again, the profit can be offset by the bank spread.

What does profitability depend on?

First of all, it depends on the type of compulsory medical insurance. He can be:

  • Deposit (urgent).
  • On demand (current).

In the first case, it will not be possible to withdraw money from compulsory health insurance before the deposit expires, and the income will consist of interest accrued on the account. It is advisable to establish deposit compulsory medical insurance for a long period - 3 years or more.

Today, it is impossible to open an urgent compulsory medical insurance at Sberbank, but for general education it is worth knowing about this, because the bank may revise its conditions - not today, then tomorrow.

The current compulsory medical insurance can be replenished unlimitedly, as well as withdrawal of funds. It does not accrue interest, and the trader’s benefit depends on exchange rate fluctuations and the ability to manage the deposit.

Profitability depends on the chosen metal. For example, if you bought gold, platinum or silver in September 2022, you still would not have received a percentage of the profit. But a bet on palladium would bring almost 3,000 rubles from 10,000.

How to become the owner of Au: what to choose: bullion or compulsory medical insurance?

When turning to a bank to invest their funds, citizens must choose which option is most convenient for them. The bank offers its clients two options:

  1. Purchase of 999 standard or 585 standard bars;
  2. Opening of compulsory medical insurance.

The fact is that the gold exchange rate for compulsory medical insurance or the cost of bullion is set twice a day and changes taking into account indicators such as supply and demand. Based on the current price, you can choose the appropriate purchase option. Each has its pros and cons. To highlight the advantages and disadvantages, let's make a table:

Types of investmentAdvantagesFlaws
Buying bullionThe client receives real gold at a favorable price and can sell the metal at any time. The quality of gold is confirmed by a special certificate from the manufacturer. You can not purchase bullion at all bank branches.
The price of the product includes taxes (VAT). The owner is responsible for storing the products. Ingots can be of different sizes and, accordingly, have different prices.
Opening of compulsory medical insuranceYou can purchase any quantity, rather than saving for a specific bar. VAT is not included in the price since we are talking about deposits. The volume of metal purchased remains unchanged, since the contribution is calculated in grams and not in rubles. Some citizens cite insufficient guarantees for the safety of savings as a disadvantage. In the event of a crisis, the exchange rate may fall sharply, but this option is hardly possible given existing statistical data.

Based on the data in the table, we can conclude that opening an account is much more profitable than purchasing gold bullion. Although, if you have a special storage space, this option can also become very convenient.

Taxes on income under compulsory medical insurance

An investor who has opened a fixed-term compulsory medical insurance should not worry. The bank itself acts as its tax agent, which at the end of the year transfers the due percentage of the depositor’s income to the Federal Tax Service.

With the current compulsory medical insurance, and Sberbank today offers only this option, it is more difficult. Since the income from it is unpredictable (it may not exist at all), the trader will have to file a declaration independently. The scheme for calculating profits received from changes in exchange rates is simple: the obligation to pay tax arises only when the deposit is closed.

The fact that you filed a declaration yourself will not allow you to be recognized as evading personal income tax.

Taxes and restrictions on acquisition

There is nothing complicated about paying taxes when buying physical gold. The notorious VAT is already included in the price, so whether you like it or not, you pay it right away.

There is also an income tax - well known, with a rate of 13%. However, you don't have to pay it. To do this, you must have owned the bullion for more than three years. Therefore, be sure to take this into account when choosing the moment of purchase. If you doubt that you will be able to keep it for the entire period, it is better to hold off on purchasing it. Why overpay if your income is already low?

Account opening methods

An individual needs very little - just a passport, a certificate of TIN assignment (if any) and the required amount.

Poste restante

Those who decide to open compulsory medical insurance at Sberbank have two options:

  1. Come in person to one of the Sberbank offices (not just any branch is suitable - you should first check by calling 8-800-555-55-50 whether the nearest one is suitable for your home).
  2. Use the Sberbank Online service (only for personal account users).

In the second case, since the agreement with Sberbank has already been signed and your data is in the database, you can create compulsory medical insurance with a few clicks of the mouse.

Urgent compulsory medical insurance

Today, Sberbank does not offer to charge interest to investors for deposits in metal, so it will not be possible to open a deposit compulsory medical insurance. In those banks where such a service is available, the conditions for its provision are usually the same: either a visit to the office, or a simplified remote scheme for bank clients.

Methods of buying gold available to individuals

There are several options available for citizens: you can buy bars, coins and put them into compulsory medical insurance. For me, a certain sluggishness of Sberbank is attractive, when in the branches of a small regional center the cost of rubles from the precious metal turns out to be less than the market average.

Ingots

So, at Sberbank you have the opportunity to buy bullion. The assortment includes gold goods of various weights. The smallest is 1 g, the largest (pre-order) is 13.3 kg (kilograms!).

Each one has:

  • letters AU;
  • try;
  • serial number;
  • weight;
  • manufacturer's mark.

Inscriptions of ingots in Russian or English.

The ingot is accompanied by a manufacturer's certificate. After purchasing a gold item, be sure to save the document (it will be required when selling it back).

Please note: the gold bar certificate and packaging must be in perfect condition. If you are not satisfied with something, ask Sberbank employees for a replacement

The price of 1 g plate is higher than the price of 1 g larger ingot. And the buyback price by Sberbank is less. The dynamics are maintained throughout the entire range. Therefore, it is more profitable to buy bars of greater weight.

Bullions are less popular among investors:

  • Sberbank changes the price several times a day depending on quotes on the stock exchange;
  • Having purchased, you need to pay VAT.

If such a bar is stored in a bank, then VAT is not withheld. Just be sure to calculate how much the bank will charge for long-term storage.

There are rumors circulating online about the abolition of VAT on gold bars. At the end of July 2022, amendments were made to the Tax Code (will come into force on October 1, 2019). But they concern compulsory medical insurance. Buying bullion for the public without tax is still a dream.

Compulsory medical insurance – impersonal metal account

OMS is an account for accounting for “paper” bank gold. For compulsory medical insurance to work, I need to buy the conditional 0.1 g (this is the minimum). The OMS will display an entry in grams, but there is no real metal there. Depending on the rate at Sberbank, after some time I either sell the weight of gold back or buy a little more.

Wherein:

  • interest is not accrued on such accounts;
  • the account is not insured (in the event of bankruptcy of Sberbank there will be no compensation for the deposit);
  • there is no backing with real gold bars.

Sberbank buys back the gold at its own price; it will not be possible to transfer “paper” gold to a cash account (only conversion). But from October 1, 2019, you can make transactions between compulsory medical insurances.

If, when purchasing, you paid for gold by bank transfer, upon materialization into real metal in the bank, you will be required to pay 20% VAT.

Investment coins

Gold in coins is the best method today to save your savings. The manufacturer packages it in transparent plastic capsules (they no longer produce it in protective polyethylene bags). Without packaging you can only buy them at a discount: they often have scratches and patina.

Sberbank offers coins from both Russian and foreign mints. If a gold coin was once sold (and was purchased at Sberbank), this is a guarantee of mandatory redemption.

900 fine coins are less capricious (they can be stored without a capsule). 999 fine requires careful handling: any scratch or stain will reduce the redemption value.

When buying a bullion coin, I don’t look at beauty (although the “Slavyanka” of the Republic of Belarus, the “Philharmoniker” of Austria or the Australian “Kangaroo” fascinate with their jewelry work). I buy on the basis of “where is the cheapest gram of gold per coin.” Sometimes it is a spotted “rusty” illiquid item: after a special penny cleaning, the value of the coin increases.

How to open compulsory medical insurance in the SB of the Russian Federation

If you have connected to the Sberbank Online service, you can open compulsory medical insurance today. The procedure will be as follows:

  1. Scroll down to the bottom of the main page and click “Go to the bank’s offer catalog.”
  2. Find the item “Metal accounts” in the list.
  3. Choose the metal that will become your currency (the most crucial moment!).
  4. Indicate the mass of the metal (the minimum in Sberbank is 0.1 grams of precious metal).
  5. Confirm the money transfer by clicking the “Continue” button.
  6. Read the contract carefully (it is short).
  7. Click on the “Open Compulsory Medical Insurance” button.

Congratulations: from now on you are the owner of several grams (or fractions of a gram) of precious metal.

Conditions under which the bullion will not be accepted at Sberbank

The bank has defined a number of restrictions, in case of which it may refuse to purchase bullion from an investor:

  1. If the case in which the ingot was sealed is opened.
  2. Unreadable information on the certificate.
  3. Lack of certificate.
  4. Rust or chipped surface of a gold bar.
  5. Inconsistency of the weight or dimensions of the ingot with GOST.

In these cases there is only one way, alas! All that remains is to hand over the gold to jewelry workshops or pawn shops at the price of scrap.

The essence and classification of metal accounts

Let's look at some general basics of the phenomenon.

What is this?

Anonymized metal account (OMS)

– this is an account in which all the precious metal belonging to the client is recorded. Only grams are reflected - without mentioning the sample, bar numbers and manufacturer.

Kinds

themselves are responsible and actually impersonal

.

The first involves the transfer of bullion to a banking company, after which they are assigned numerical values. The organization is responsible for the safety of property while the cooperation agreement with the client on investment rights is in effect.

The second involves the use of impersonal equivalents of precious metals in deposits instead of currency.

We are primarily interested in compulsory medical insurance. They are also divided into subtypes. This:

  1. Urgent.
    A characteristic feature is activation by agreement, which determines the period of interaction and the interest rate. If the client terminates cooperation early, he does not receive any interest income.
  2. Current.
    There are no interest rates charged. Income is generated due to changes in quotes.

We remind you that Sber offers a compulsory health insurance service.

Available operations

The set of actions is not too large:

  • opening and closing of compulsory medical insurance;
  • acquisition and sale of precious metal at the rate of a banking institution;
  • money transfer;
  • cashing out funds in banknotes or bullion.

Support-resistance levels often become points where quotes of precious metals on the stock exchange change their direction of movement; in the slang of stockbrokers, they “push off”. For example, the price of gold falls, but upon reaching a certain level, the decline stops, the trend reverses or becomes sideways.

After several attempts to break through the support level, quotes often change direction and make a leap upward. Similar phenomena are also typical for upward movements on the stock exchange; only then does the rate begin to decline after unsuccessful attempts to break through resistance lines.

On the gold chart, support at approximately $1,275 was tested three times before the price surged higher.

You can also use the breakout or counterbreakout method. It is based on breaking through support or resistance lines.

The breakout method consists of opening a position along the trend, when the resistance level is broken - buy, the support line - short (sell).

Counter-breakout, if you are sure that the price, having broken through the level, will go back. If quotes exceed the resistance level - sell, fall below the support level - buy.

Which compulsory medical insurance is more profitable?

To understand which account is more profitable to open, you need to consider several factors:

  • individual characteristics of metals;
  • spread size (the difference between purchase and sale prices);
  • exposure of quotes to the influence of political and economic processes.

Let's briefly touch on each of the precious metals offered by Sberbank.

Silver

Silver is characterized by low volatility (price volatility). Short-term surges occur only occasionally. This point indicates instability of income and high risks of not receiving it.

.

For these reasons, it is better to invest in Ag using accounts that involve income from interest charges.

Gold

Simply put, gold guarantees stable profits and low risks. However, the profitability is characterized by a low percentage.

Palladium

The price of this metal shows constant growth dynamics. It is widely used in industry, which only adds to its cost.

There are many Pd deposits on the planet, but it is difficult to extract. Hence its high cost.

Platinum

Prices on Pt have been falling in recent years. The reason for this is the global economic crisis. Due to this circumstance, the demand for metal is quite low.

The outlook for platinum's immediate prospects is negative. Demand for it will fall due to low production profitability.

It is not so easy to make money on such compulsory health insurance, but if you use the account skillfully, the profit can be serious.

Do you need a metal account?

To achieve an understanding of the need to establish compulsory medical insurance, you should pay attention to some analytics.

Benefit Analysis

First tip:

Pay attention first of all to those metals that show positive growth dynamics.

Second tip:

take into account the size of the spread. At a value close to 10% of the metal price, the investment can be considered unprofitable: the reason is the actual destruction of profitability due to the presence of a large difference between purchase and sale prices.

Third tip:

if you are a beginner, make an investment in dollar or ruble equivalents. An alternative option is to purchase shares of a metal mining organization.

Nuances

How to make money on silver and gold and other metals? In this market, there are two types of investors - a conservative and a speculator.

The former most often open time deposits. Income comes to them when the period of validity of the investment agreement ends. If prices plummet, such investors are at great risk of losing all interest - and losses may exceed the amount of their own available funds.

The latter open a metal account for an unlimited time: throughout the entire range of compulsory medical insurance, they carry out transactions with precious metals. Every transaction generates income. The difficulty lies in the need to be able to predict changes in quotes.
