Crimson Agates are collectible items in Genshin Impact that can only be found within Dragonspine. They are needed to upgrade a local shrine called the “Permafrost Tree” (analogous to the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma). Simply put, crimson agates are the same oculi, only they need to be offered not to the statue of the Seven Archons, but to the Permafrost Tree. For this you will receive many valuable rewards, including blanks for crafting weapons, a decorative glider, pestilence, adventure experience and much more. Location of all crimson agates in Dragonspine: locations and maps with collection route
There are 80 crimson agates in the Dragon Ridge area. They show up on the mini-map if you get too close to them. However, don't expect that collecting all the crimson agates will be easy. Some of them can only be obtained after killing strong monsters, completing certain quests and/or solving puzzles. Below you will find all the information you need on how to get all 80 Crimson Agates in Genshin Impact.

Torn note
If you get to the place marked on the map, you will see a stone bridge over the water, as well as a device next to it. To get rid of the water and go down into the cave, find four columns that need to be activated with cryo abilities (the starting character is Kaya).
Having done this, go down and kill all the enemies. Open the grate to exit the cave, break the scarlet quartz and use it to free the two devices from the ice. This way you can read the torn note that is in the cage. It says that the traveler went north along the stream. Leave the cave and follow the stream as indicated on the note. In front of the waterfall, on the left side, you will see an impromptu camp, in which you will find another adventurer's diary. Go down the waterfall and fight the boss. If you defeat the boss, you will receive 5 Source Stones

How to get hidden crimson agate (80th)
The last 80th crimson agate can only be obtained after completing the quest “Lost in the Snows”. This quest won't give you much trouble. All you need to do is explore Dragonspine, find three empty camps and collect records there.
You can receive the quest “Lost in the Snow” in the camp at the entrance to the Dragon Ridge location. Find the boy named Joel and talk to him. The kid will ask you to find his missing father.
How to find Father Joel: places with notes
- 1 note. Teleport to the Seven Archons statue in Dragonspine and glide down to the southeast. There you will find a camp and the first note on the ground.
- 2 note. Travel to the outskirts of the Buried Capital Palace (southeast fast travel point) and go northwest. Use the pyro hero's ability to melt the snow. Below it on the ground you will find a second note.
- 3 note. Return to the Seven Archons statue and go southwest. Break the blockage of stones with a sword. Behind it there will be a small camp and the last note.
To get the 80th Crimson Agate, find a plate in the last camp (where you read the third note). Interact with it and place some berries. Place berries in the plate for several real days until white chanterelles and a chest with the last crimson agate appear in the camp.
After collecting all the notes, be sure to return to Joel and talk to him. This will complete the quest “Lost in the Snow” and you will receive 40 Source Stones.
How to open the Permafrost Tree?
The first task that you will have to complete in the location is “In the Mountains” . This is an introductory part, do not miss the dialogues, game training and tips!
At the stage of the quest “Melt the strange ice”, the first thing you will need to do is destroy the ice crystal covering the desired Tree. Then take a close look at Game-Based Learning regarding this item.
Information about "Crimson Desire"
"Crimson Desire" is an additional feature of the Permafrost Tree, added to the game in update 1.2. You can use it if you donate all 80 crimson agates to the shrine. "Crimson Desire" is a quest that is available twice a week - on Monday and Friday.
For each completed task you will be given 1 crimson agate. Once you have accumulated enough Crimson Agates, donate them to the Permafrost Tree and receive additional rewards. Once you upgrade the shrine to the maximum level, “Crimson Desires” will stop appearing.
Description
Crimson Agate is a crystal formed from the mixing of life force and the special energy of the Dragon Ridge. There is no better nutrient for the thirsty growth of the Permafrost Tree.
When the thorn that froze Dragonspine hit the top of the mountain, the trunk and crown of this tree split into many pieces and froze. Many years later, a black dragon fell into the valley, and its blood seeped into the arteries of the earth. Many years later, someone broke the ice shackles, and the ancient tree that had absorbed the “crimson” began to sprout again...
Challenge Arena
The arena is a small clearing with three bonfires.
It can be found near the place where you completed the slab puzzle. From the teleport, go down to the south, where the arena is located. Before starting the challenge, we recommend lighting all the torches and using the Delicious Tomato Stew dish to avoid being distracted by the growing Bitter Cold meter. In total, you have to deal with three waves of enemies and one boss, “Rime Shell Lavachurl,” within the allotted time. To do this in time, use the pyro abilities of your heroes. The following heroes are perfect for completing the test:
- Xiang Ling;
- Klee;
- Xin Yan;
- Diluc.
For completing the challenge you will receive three chests and a lot of valuable loot:
- Source Stone x15;
- Crimson agate x1;
- Mora x3808;
- Hero experience x3.
Frozen pool
You will find this pool near the location " Cave of Starlight"
" If you just look at the global map, you will immediately understand where it is. Follow this area and take the glider down. You will see four blocked statues with fire and two fireflies, with which you can activate the statues. Approach one first, then quickly move to the other side and touch the second. If you managed to do this before the first one completed the circle, then all four statues will become active, and the ice in the pool will be destroyed.
Go down to the pool. Here you will already see six similar statues and three fireflies. You will also need to launch the fireflies in the correct order. All fireflies, after activation, walk in one circle, activating the statues. First, launch the first firefly on the right, then the second and third. The interval should be approximately two statues (the first firefly must pass two statues before you launch the second one). If you did everything correctly, the robot to your left will wake up, and you will have to fight it.
As a reward for solving this mystery, you will receive several chests (including a “precious” and two “rich” chests) and the following loot:
- Source Stone x40;
- Crimson agate x1;
- Adventurer's watch x1;
- Mora x 61650;

Mysterious plates. How to solve the 8 stone slabs puzzle
You can find such slabs in the western part of the island, in the north of the location “ Vicinities of the Buried Capital”
" If you've been to this area before, simply fast travel to get here. Otherwise, use the map below to find the location.
When you reach the teleport, run north and don’t forget to take a scarlet quartz stone with you, since with its help you will need to destroy the ice block that blocks access to one of the slabs. Get rid of the two shamans and start unraveling the secret. To get the reward, you need to step on the slabs in the correct order. We have prepared a screenshot indicating the correct sequence.

From a mineralogist's point of view, red agate is a type of translucent quartz with a crystallized structure.

The intensity of the red scale depends on the amount of iron in the mineral. The more it is, the denser the stone and the brighter the color. The presence of goethite makes the stone shine.
The origin of the stone is igneous, less often sedimentary.
King of the Snow Boars

As a reward for completing the quest you will receive a recipe - “ Tomato Stew
”. This dish reduces the rate at which all party members accumulate bitter frost for 900 seconds. With the new recipe, you can easily travel through the Dragon Ridge without fear of the low temperatures of this region.
