Atronach Forge
The Atronach Forge will be useful to you regardless of what build you choose for the main character. However, those who play as a magician and have invested a lot of points in the “Witchcraft” branch will get more benefit from it.
The Atronach Forge is a magical device located in Midden (under the College of Winterhold). To work in it you need to have precious stones, rare ingredients and different types of salt (simple, frosty, fire, etc.). Essentially, the Atronach Forge does not create items, but summons them from Oblivion, but you still need to learn the crafting recipes. You can get recipes in many ways, for example, by searching the pockets of NPCs or from the corpses of dead sorcerers.
Despite the lengthy process of gathering recipes and ingredients, the Atronach Forge is the easiest way to get Daedric Armor, Atronach Staves, and Spellbooks in Skyrim. If you unlock access to it (you need to complete the secondary task “Ritual Spell of Witchcraft” from Finis Gestor), then you will not have to spend money on buying volumes that teach magical abilities and looking for suitable equipment for the mage hero.
Important! To take on the “Ritual Witchcraft Spell” quest, you need to first level up your “Witchcraft” skill to at least level 90. Fortunately, this is easy to do. Just use the Soul Capture spell on dead NPCs on cooldown.

Elven equipment
Description
Elven Armor is a set of light armor found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Elven armor
The armor's characteristics are a cross between leather and chitin armor. It can be worn by mercenaries and thieves whom Dovahkiin may meet on the road, starting from approximately level 12, regardless of race.
Creation
To make armor at the forge, you need the “Elven Armor” ability, which can be acquired at level 30 of the “Blacksmithing” skill. The materials needed to create armor are ingots of iron and purified moonstone, as well as leather, either in whole pieces or cut into belts. To make a gilded version of the cuirass, instead of leather, you need mercury ore ingots.
To improve any element of armor on the workbench, you need one ingot of refined moonstone.
Location
- Once the main character reaches level 12, pieces of Elven equipment can be randomly found in various containers throughout Skyrim and SolstheimDB.
- Enchanted pieces of armor will begin to appear when the character reaches level 13.
- Also, such armor can be found on sale at almost all blacksmiths and merchants.
- Unenchanted armor can be removed from the bodies of Thalmor soldiers from a randomly encountered patrol or at the Thalmor embassy and in the Northern Watch Fortress.
Moon Ore
Moonstone Ore is an ore in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Description
From two pieces of moon ore in a smelter you can smelt one refined moonstone. In the future, these ingots are used to make and improve elven equipment.
Location
- Mzulft, southeast of Windhelm - 7 veins.
- Inside the Stone Brook cave, southeast of Windhelm, there are 2 veins. Both are at the very end of a long corridor. To get to them you need to destroy several bandits.
- Soljund's Lair, west of Rorikstead - 5 veins, 3 pieces and 2 ore ingots, of which 3 pieces are on the table in the mine, and 2 ingots are in the closet.
- Crystal cave - 1 vein. Southwest of Riften, near the Snowmobile farm. On the first level, the entrance to the cave is guarded by two or three wolves, with four more wolves waiting inside.
- Halfway down, north of Peryite's Shrine.
- At the top of the small mountain where the Night Callers Temple is located, southwest of the Imperial Camp of Winterhold, there is 1 vein.
- South of Morthal, at the foot of the dragon mound - 1 vein.
- Raldbthar - 1 vein.
- To the northeast of the Altar of the Sky Born - 1 vein.
- On the way from the Glade of Ancestors to the Angi camp - 1 vein.
- One piece of ore can be found at the site of the Salt Hammer wreck.

Heavenly Forge
The Skyforge is located in Whiterun behind the Jorrvaskr Mead Hall. A man named Yorlund Graymane works there. This is one of two forges in the city. The second is called “House of the Warrior” and belongs to Adriana Avenicci.
At the Skyforge, Yorlund Greymane crafts weapons from skysteel. It has the same design as a regular steel weapon, but its base damage is the same as an elven weapon. You cannot forge this weapon yourself at the Sky Forge. The only way to obtain it is to join the Companions and purchase it from Yorlund.
Essentially, the Skyforge is no different from regular forges, where you create equipment using Blacksmithing. Go there at any time and create what you want, provided you have the necessary perks for it. However, in the future, if you complete a series of quests for the Companions faction, you will be able to craft the ancient Nordic armor worn by most draugr monsters. This armor is difficult to find in the open world or in dungeons, and cannot be purchased or obtained through quests. It can only be obtained from the corpses of cultists during the quest “Hunting the Dragon Cult.”
Note! Ancient Nord armor can only be forged at the Sky Forge if you have the Daedric Armor perk unlocked.
In addition to ancient Nordic armor, you can create weapons of an ancient hero in the Heavenly Forge. You also saw it on draugr while exploring dungeons. However, unlike the ancient Nord weapons, the ancient hero's weapons look more attractive and deal more base damage. The methods for crafting an ancient hero's weapon are somewhat different from crafting any other weapon. First of all, you need to obtain ancient Nordic weapons (as starting material). In addition, you will need 2 steel ingots and 2 strips of leather.
Aetherium Forge
The Aetherium Forge is a unique place belonging to the Dawnguard faction. You will find it if you complete the mission "Lost in the Ages" (Dawnguard DLC required). By unlocking the Aetherium Forge by killing the Master Blacksmith, you gain access to three powerful Dwemer artifacts:
- Etherium Staff. Creates a spider or Dwemer sphere in the area specified by the main character. The created sphere/spider fights on the side of the caster for 1 minute. The ethereal staff is not affected by the bonus of the “Twin Souls” perk, so you won’t be able to summon two creatures. However, you can combine the Dwemer Orb/Spider with summoned Dwemer Gears and a Dwemer Creature that can be obtained from completing the Kagrumez Challenges. To strengthen the Dwemer sphere/spider, we recommend that you take the “Master of the Mind” perk from the “Illusion” school. In this case, the creatures will benefit from the spells “Courage”, “Flight”, “Encouragement” - an increase in HP and strength.
- Etherium shield. He not only has a beautiful appearance, but also a unique charm, thanks to which the enemy, having received a blow from the shield, turns into an incorporeal creature for 15 seconds. During the specified time, he cannot deal damage, but he himself does not receive damage. This gives you the opportunity to buy some time in a fight with a group of enemies in order to heal or heal your allies.
- Etherium Crown. The item is considered the most useful of the three listed Dwemer artifacts. It allows the hero to have two positive effects from standing stones at once. By wearing the Etherium Crown, you will move one of your existing Destiny Stone bonuses into it, after which you can take a second bonus without losing the first. This property makes the crown indispensable in the process of leveling up skills, completing difficult dungeons and battles with bosses.
The materials for crafting this equipment are collected during the quest “Lost in the Ages”. However, it’s worth saying right away that you can only make one thing - either a staff, or a crown, or a shield. You won't be able to get all three items.
