How to distinguish from a fake?

Despite the affordable price, you can find fake stones in stores. They are made mainly from pink glass or plastic.

Real rhodonite can be easily distinguished from a fake:

  1. The color of the mineral is uneven, there are inclusions in the structure, and the pattern is unique.
  2. Rhodonite, like all natural stones, has a higher specific gravity compared to glass and plastic.
  3. The surface of a real gem is smooth. The presence of scratches and burrs indicates that the stone is fake.
  4. Rhodonite is cool to the touch, even when squeezed in the palm of your hand.

To protect yourself from buying a fake stone, you should ask the seller for a certificate of conformity.

Types of pink stones

Experts have studied all pink minerals. Each rock has its own unique characteristics that make it valuable. There are three groups of pink gems:

  1. Ornamental and decorative (rhodochrosite, rhodonite, jasper, coral).
  2. Semi-precious (corundum, quartz, agate).
  3. Precious (sapphire, spinel, topaz, kunzite, tourmaline, beryl).

Further in our article we will talk in more detail about semi-precious and precious stones of pink color. The photos will show you all their subtleties and color features.

Energy of stones – which zodiac signs are suitable for which specimens

No matter how someone views esotericism, it cannot be denied that precious, semi-precious and ornamental stones contain the most powerful energy. And how could it be otherwise in the case of a mineral born under conditions of monstrous rock pressure and under the influence of extreme temperatures reaching 3000⁰C? So, who is suitable for what?

  • Opal and onyx in the form of a cabochon are suitable for Capricorns
  • For Pisces - everything that hints at scales and water, that is, pearls, coral, pink sapphire, amethyst.
  • For Gemini – opal, rosochrosite and agate.
  • Aquarius - amethyst, topaz and sapphire.
  • Spinel and rhodonite are suitable for Aries
  • Taurus – kunzite and onyx.
  • Cancer - quartz, feldspar with a pink tint and onyx, preferably with inclusions.
  • For Leos - kunzite, spinel and topaz.
  • Virgos - onyx, pearls and sapphire.
  • Libra – rhodochrosite, opal and morganite.
  • Amethyst with roseochrosite is suitable for Scorpios
  • Sagittarius - topaz, sapphire and spinel.

Delicate rose quartz

There are different types of quartz, but pink is considered the most delicate in tone. You can see it in the photo above. It received its radiant color thanks to titanium impurities. Due to the inclusion of needle-shaped crystals in its composition, it has a cloudy appearance.

If you don't know the name of the light pink colored gemstone, it is quartz. It belongs to semi-precious stones. Depending on the pigment of its granular substance in quartz cores, it can be of the following tones: bright pink, rose-red, purple, lilac.

Rose quartz is formed from a confluent or vein amorphous mass. In nature, it appears as cloudy minerals with cracks. Most often it forms in acidic rocks. It often lies next to rock crystal and mica.

There are not so many deposits of rose quartz. Here are the countries where it is mined: Brazil, Japan, USA, India, Kazakhstan. Small deposits are also found in some European countries. In Russia, it is mined in Karelia and Altai. But in Madagascar there are ideal examples of rose quartz.

Rose quartz is processed using the cabochon method: the stone is shaped into a ball or oval. Craftsmen like not so much the transparency of the stone as the richness of the color. In addition to jewelry, various figurines are made from this stone.

Rose quartz can relieve physical and mental fatigue. They say that if you wear it for a long time, you can significantly extend your life. Mages use it to destroy the crown of celibacy. But it is not suitable for proud and touchy people, because it increases self-esteem.

Historical reference

Rhodonite is considered a Russian stone, since among the Ural gems its value is second only to the famous malachite. Since ancient times, beautiful rhodonite, considered miraculous, was found in the Urals. To this day, the richest deposits of beautiful rhodonite in the world are located there, the belief in the magical and healing properties of which is very strong to this day. Often gray, black and other shades are woven into its pink, red or crimson tone, but the most noble stone is considered to be one free from impurities.

True, in Rus' it was called differently - “eagle”, since small fragments of stone were often found in eagle nests.

There was a popular belief that if you attach an eagle to a baby’s cradle, the baby will grow up vigilant, healthy and strong.

Talismans and jewelry were made from it, tabletops, beautiful vessels, candlesticks and other interior details were sharpened. The Hermitage presents unique products made from rhodonite: floor lamps more than three meters high and a huge vase with a diameter of almost two meters.

Soft agate

Pink agate is considered to be relatively inexpensive, but often found in nature. This mineral is formed with the help of magnesium oxide, which affects the color and structure of the gem. Agate has very unusual patterns that cannot be found in other minerals. It is softly processed, so jewelers use it very widely. Jewelry made from pink agate is inexpensive, because it is a semi-precious stone. You can see it in the photo above.

Craftsmen love agate. Many beautiful jewelry are made from it. It is suitable for making bracelets, pendants, earrings. Sometimes rings are even cut from solid pieces of agate. Many products contain cabochon stones.

Magical properties of rhodonite

Rhodonite talismans are believed to bring material benefits to the owner, especially in the form of art objects. A stone with black veins can protect against robbery, so it is recommended to have a figurine or other product made of rhodonite in the house.

Rumor associates rhodonite with the beginning of life, so talismans made from it are popular among young people who strive for recognition and success. With its help, hidden talents and abilities are identified, and they are put to successful use. The mineral enhances the craving for art, while helping to fight the laziness that often accompanies talent, for which it should be worn in a keychain.

For creative people (singers, musicians, writers, designers) who regularly appear in public, it is very useful to wear a rhodonite bracelet on the left wrist, which will strengthen self-confidence, give inspiration and energy recharging.

The eagle can also help in family life. It is a wonderful amulet that protects the family hearth from scandals, intrigues, and negative influences from the outside. And rhodonite given for a wedding will become a powerful family amulet.

A single young man wearing rhodonite as jewelry or a keychain is likely to attract the attention of women, and his marriage will be very strong. The Eaglet absorbs the irritation and anger of the owner, dispels melancholy, improving mood, and teaches us to love the joys of life, accepting fate as a gift.

Rhodonite is also credited with another unique property: if the stone is charged by a psychic or the owner himself, then it is capable of generating positive energy for a long time.

Precious sapphire

Sapphire is a type of the mineral corundum. It comes in different shades. We are talking about pink and pink-orange sapphire. It is very expensive. One carat can be worth thousands of dollars. The mineral consists of aluminum oxide and chromium impurities. Pink sapphire has a very strong refractive index. Shimmering, this pebble creates the effect of a cat's eye.

A pink-orange sapphire called padparadscha is considered unique. This Indian name is associated with the shades of the lotus flower and the sky at sunset. Today, the largest sapphire crystal of 100 carats is kept in the New York Museum. Jewelers use sapphires in pendants, earrings, and rings. Young girls especially love them for the delicate color of the insert.

Sapphire also has healing and magical properties. It is recommended for people suffering from heart and joint diseases. It is especially useful for women who want to get pregnant. Long-term wearing of pink sapphire leads to calmness, prevention of hysteria and psychosis. If you don’t know which pink gemstone to buy, then feel free to give preference to sapphire.

Compatible with other minerals in rings, bracelets, earrings and other jewelry

Taking into account that stones and minerals can be born in completely different conditions, not all of them can be combined with each other due to the energy of different origins. Example? A diamond born in the depths under pressure of thousands of atmospheres and high temperature from carbon - and quietly growing in a mollusk shell in a warm sea at a shallow depth - a pearl. Fire and water - what could be more incompatible?

As for pink stones, malachite, obsidian and onyx will be incompatible with a pink diamond or ruby. With rose quartz, beryl or coral - garnet, agate, jasper and carnelian. With pink onyx – peridot, chrysoprase and zircon. Pearls extinguish the strong energy of sardonyx, beryl and malachite, and amethysts, jades and topazes are also incompatible with these minerals.

Pink stones, despite their similarity in many properties to other twin minerals (for example, ordinary topaz - to pink, pink sapphire - to blue, etc.), also carry a different energy. And they choose their future owner-partner more carefully. One can, of course, skeptically dismiss the recommendations of esotericists and gemologists and stone specialists. But if you are confident in certain properties of a stone, if you have the means to choose and buy one that is compatible with you, do not refuse such an acquisition. Or a gift. Faith works miracles. And the presence of a bundle of energy next to you can always support you in difficult times, give you faith in yourself and overcome possible life difficulties.

Rare spinel

This mineral is formed from the elements aluminum and magnesium. Pink spinel is durable and has a beautiful, uniform shine after cutting. Its deposits are found quite often in nature. Translated from Greek, “spinel” means “spark.” Thanks to its beautiful iridescence, this gem is not inferior in beauty to a diamond. The mineral occurs in the form of small crystals. Spinel shines like glass.

To process spinel, specialists use a combined, step or diamond cut. Some enormous force is associated with the stone, capable of stirring up all the feelings in the body, giving it vitality, energy, and inducing it to perform some action.

Physicochemical characteristics

Rhodonite is a chain silicate containing 54% manganese oxide. The impurities include iron, aluminum, zinc and magnesium.

The mineral has an average hardness level (up to 5.5 points on the Mohs scale) and increased fragility. The stone has a glassy luster, perfect cleavage and uneven fracture, and is characterized by translucency or complete opacity.

Rhodonite lends itself well to processing. It is easy to cut, the surface after grinding and polishing becomes mirror-like.

Deep pink topaz

Topaz is a semi-precious, not too expensive mineral. It comes in different shades. Pink topaz is very popular. The word “topaz” itself means “heat and fire”. It is distinguished from other stones by its high density.

Topaz has been mined for a long time. It occurs in the form of large crystals. A stone weighing 117 kg was found in Ukraine. Topaz cannot be confused with any other mineral, as it shines very brightly. It is processed quite easily, which any master can do. In jewelry, it is most advantageously combined with yellow and white gold.

Magicians use pink topaz to prevent damage. Its energy helps you make the right decisions. It gives the owner wisdom and concentration.

almandine garnet

Among inexpensive stones, traditionally classified as semi-precious, there are also very spectacular and beautiful crimson stones, for example, garnets. These stones also come in many variations and color shades. Crimson and purple garnets are called almandines. They are often found in India and can be of vastly different quality. Small stones of mediocre quality are very cheap; they usually have many defects, cracks, and inclusions. Cheap stones are often too dark or pale in color, translucent or cloudy.

But large and pure almandines are unusually good. They are much cheaper than all other crimson-colored stones, they are more common, but they look no worse in products.

Unique kunzite

A variety of the mineral spodumene is pink kunzite. This is a relatively inexpensive gemstone. You can also find such names as lithium amethyst, California amethyst, spodumene amethyst. Pink kunzite is a fragile crystal that fades slightly over time and resembles an amethyst. Kunzite consists of aluminum silicate and lithium impurities.

The gemstone kunzite was first discovered in 1996. It was then that D. Kennedy's ring was sold at one of the auctions. It was a 47-carat pink stone surrounded by twenty diamonds that the president bought for his wife for Christmas. Only she never received the ring, because Kennedy was assassinated a month before the holiday.

Ruby

We are all accustomed to the fact that rubies are red. But the most valuable stones are the color of “pigeon’s blood”, that is, cold, with a bluish tint, crimson color. These are very valuable and incredibly beautiful stones, rare and expensive.

But in India you can buy very inexpensive rubies of this color, only opaque or translucent. Of course, they are incomparably cheaper and are quoted much lower than transparent, beautifully colored rubies, but they are very affordable and beautiful, quite suitable for everyday wear and will not break the bank.

Raspberry pink tourmaline

This crystal is also known as rubellite. It has a slightly reddish tint, like a ruby. Even in ancient times, tourmaline was counterfeited as a ruby. You can see this similarity in the photo above. In jewelry, it is most often found in the shape of a cone with a step cut (in earrings, rings, pendants). Pendants can also have a cabochon. One carat of pink tourmaline costs $20.

Pink beryl (morganite)

Another pink-colored mineral is morganite. Its chemical composition contains cesium, lithium, and manganese. When exposed to high temperatures, the stone may become discolored. Morganite was discovered by the American scientist Morgan. The name of the mineral comes from his last name. In Russia, this stone is also called Vorobievite in honor of the mineralogist Vorobiev.

Beryl is a little known stone but has good qualities. It is often given a diamond cut. Very often, pink morganite is inserted into rings together with real diamonds.

Medicinal properties

Traditionally, rhodonite is considered one of the women's talismans, which contribute to the conception of a child, its successful pregnancy and health. Gynecologists often carry this stone with them in the pocket of their robe so that its magical powers can help patients during childbirth.

Rhodonite is often used to prevent eye diseases - for this purpose, small smooth stones are systematically applied to the eyelids for a couple of minutes. Rhodonite also has a beneficial effect on thyroid problems, improves memory, strengthens the immune system, relieves stress during neuroses, and improves the functioning of the cardiovascular system and liver.

Pink stone makes our worldview more harmonious and normalizes our psychological state. It is believed that with the help of its healing qualities you can get rid of insomnia and nightmares.

Uses and properties of pink gemstones

Today, jewelry with pink gemstones is not in short supply. They are used to encrust rings, pendants, earrings, and bracelets. These gems go well with stones of a different color, especially transparent ones. Frames made of white and yellow precious metals make them stand out perfectly. Connoisseurs of jewelry art wear such jewelry. The product with pink spinel is tender and passionate. Jade looks best in rings and bracelets.

Pink stones can make a woman’s image more interesting and memorable. Jewelry with such a gem is an excellent gift for a bride, beloved woman, daughter, sister. It is associated with love and tenderness. Pink stones have calm vibrations and shimmers. They do not show anger, aggressiveness, or hatred.

Why choose pink crystal jewelry? Its energy helps develop the image, increases the level of tolerance and sympathy, and promotes effective activity. There were cases when they were used in the treatment of long-healing injuries. They are recommended to be worn by those who have difficulties in love and relationships. After a certain time of wearing, more pleasant, sincere, living connections are observed.

Mineral care

Ring with rhodonite
Fragile rhodonite requires a delicate attitude. It is recommended to protect it from even the slightest impacts, compression and falling, so as not to damage the integrity of the gem.

The stone should not be worn on the beach or for long walks in the summer sun, otherwise it may become discolored. Rhodonite can also lose its beautiful shade after contact with sea and hot water.

To clean the mineral, use exclusively cool water, soapy water and a brush with soft bristles. Ultrasonic cleaning of the stone is allowed.

Jewelry with rhodonite should not be worn constantly; it should be removed periodically for rest. Store products with stones wrapped in soft cloth in a separate box.
