Yellow gold chains

For many millennia, people cannot do without jewelry, which makes them even more attractive. The chain is one of the most ancient precious attributes. The custom of wearing a gold chain around the neck dates back to ancient Egyptian men, who thus showed their belonging to the upper class. Years have passed, but the chains have not gone out of fashion, but have become incredibly popular. Now they are worn by representatives of both sexes, and not only on the neck, but also on the legs, wrists and on the belt. In recent years, it is increasingly possible to see the presence of silver and gold chains on men.

Representatives of the stronger half of humanity have returned to their favorite decoration. Many of them prefer, as before, to wear a chain around their neck, complementing it with a cross, a token or some kind of talisman; others like chains on tie clips or on cufflinks. Refined aesthetes and aristocrats buy watches on a chain, which for hundreds of years have been considered an indicator of the good taste of the owner.

In any case, we can say with confidence that a correctly selected chain makes a man’s image stylish, elegant, and gives a young guy brutality and masculinity. Most men prefer silver, which, unlike gold, is not conspicuous, but looks great on the stronger half of humanity. The beauty industry does not stand still and is pleased to offer stylish and beautiful silver jewelry to everyone.

What is useful to know about connecting chain links

It is well known that any chain consists of links that are intertwined by craftsmen in different ways. The links can be round, oval, triangular, rectangular, in the form of a ball, cord, cord, etc. It is unknown when and who first connected several dozen links into the oldest chain in the world, but it was then that this man began the process of weaving precious metal into a chain . Depending on the shape of the links and how they are connected to each other, today there are about 70 different types of chain weaving.

What kind of weaving is typical for men's silver jewelry, and how can a man choose the most suitable chain?

From the depths of centuries, the technique of weaving silver links came to people. At first it was quite simple, since the chains were made only by hand. Currently, special coupling devices have been invented that make it possible to produce silver chains of various thicknesses, complex loop patterns, and even the combination of several loops of different shapes and sizes in one link. Thus, now in the world there are 2 ways of weaving chains: manual and automatic.

Hand-joined chains are called full-weight, they are made of silver wire, they are stronger and heavier due to the absence of cavities inside the wire. Their cost is quite high. Automatic silver weaving is also called hollow, since in the production of such chains a thin silver strip is wound on a rod of non-precious metal, which is then etched out of the chain and forms a void inside it. Automatic connection products seem more massive than hand-woven chains, but in fact, due to the voids, they are lighter in weight. Since these jewelry are made on machines, they are not as expensive, have an unusual and complex design, but are less durable than full-length chains. According to the complexity of production, all types of chain weaving can be divided into 2 groups: classic and modern (fancy). What are they and what kind of men are they suitable for?

Machine or hand knitting chains

Machine knitting technology is good for both the thinnest and lightest chains and popular full-weight weaves. Moreover, most light chains that are knitted on a loom cannot be made by hand due to their very small size or complex assembly.

With the help of machinery, it is possible to produce a full-fledged product of 1 gram or less, and the smallest link size in our factory, for example, will be 1.4 mm. Once the decoration is woven, it is sent to an oven heated to 815 degrees to join the ends of the links. This is how we get perfectly smooth products with identical elements.

Our customers often ask about the strength of weaves. So, in terms of strength, machine and hand knitting are not inferior to each other. Strength often depends on the thickness of the wire, the quality of soldering of the links and, of course, the careful wearing of the jewelry affects it.

Hand weaving allows you to make a really strong chain that will be good for everyday wear and large pendants. In addition, in this way you can realize any idea - come up with a fancy weave for one single order, combine it with cast elements. The manual method of weaving chains requires a lot of time and the professionalism of a specialist. See for yourself - on average, the process, from working with wire to obtaining the finished product, goes through 13-14 stages.

Classic types of chain connection

This group includes the simple coupling of links to each other, the loops are connected sequentially one at a time or in pairs. People began to weave in this way a long time ago, but despite its simplicity, this connection still has many fans all over the world. Classic types of weaving men's chains made of silver are “Anchor”, “Figaro”, “Shell”.

The “Anchor” connection is one of the most ancient. When weaving an anchor chain, its links are located at right angles to each other, that is, perpendicular. The classic anchor chain seems simple at first glance. However, modern craftsmen have complicated its design by changing the shape and thickness of the links. For example, instead of round elements, they began to use flat, elongated ones with a jumper in the middle, reminiscent of a real sea chain.

In some types of anchor chain, craftsmen performed diamond cutting or engraving on silver, and it sparkled like a precious stone. A classic silver chain with durable anchor weave - simple or complicated - is ideal for boys or young men under 25, but older people also like to wear it. After all, it is considered one of the most common jewelry of the stronger sex.

With armor weaving, oval and slightly curved chain links are located in the same plane. There is a double and hammered connection of elements. This weaving is done automatically. The links are often diamond cut. Due to their rich appearance, such silver chains are preferred by financially wealthy men.

Another classic clutch is the Figaro. This type of armored joint is distinguished by the fact that it alternates in a certain sequence links of different shapes and sizes: small round ones with large oval ones. Due to this weaving, chains look very interesting and are suitable for men of any age and status.

How to weave a friendship bracelet with your own hands

A friendship bracelet, or in common parlance a bauble, is woven from thin threads. This is where you can absolutely not limit yourself in the number of colors; the more there are, the more colorful and pretty the bracelet will turn out to be. Weaving them is not so difficult, you can see some patterns in the photo below: We also recommend watching the video to see the process clearly:

These bracelets can be worn three or more at a time, they do not overload the image, especially if you choose the right color scheme.

Modern models of link connections

Modern types of silver weaving are more beautiful and impressive. They can be made either manually or using automatic machines. The most common among these types are the following male compounds: “Bismarck”, “Rombo”, “Korda”, “Byzantine”.

  1. "Bismarck". A type of weaving intended only for men's chains. It consists of thick spiral-shaped links that are woven by hand in several rows. The result is a rather complex and intricate pattern. There are several varieties of this connection: “Python”, “Byzantine”, etc. The “Bismarck” weave was very popular back in Soviet times, and then the “new Russians” loved to wear such chains. Years have passed, but Bismarck is still very much loved by male entrepreneurs and financiers. Silver chains with this connection look massive, so they are ideal for men of average and heavy build, as well as for athletes.
  2. Weaving "Rombo". Silver chains are made from diamond-shaped links that lie in the same plane. There is a double and triple connection "Rombo". Such silver jewelry is universal and will suit any man.
  3. "Byzantine" or "Royal". A variety of "Bismarck", it is also called "Cardinal" or "Roman weave". It refers to fancy connections of silver links. Despite the apparent complexity, the products are made by hand. This clutch is suitable for both sexes: women and men with sophisticated taste.
  4. Weaving "Cord" (rope). You can make such a chain by hand, although it is not very easy. The links of the silver chain are located perpendicular to each other. Several links can be included in one ring at once, as a result of which the shape of the chain becomes twisted. The cord connection is suitable for both boys and men. Chains of different thicknesses are produced from 2 to 7 mm.

Features of weaving cord bracelets for beginners

Baubles from this material are made in plain and colored ones. Materials can be purchased at stores selling haberdashery, accessories and fabrics. There are leather, velvet, satin, nylon and twisted waxed threads. The founder of this type of needlework is the macrame weaving technique.

For those who have never created such bracelets, we advise you to start with the simplest models. They are no less attractive than complex weaving. Even a child can cope with them. Simple nodes are used in the work. Such as flat square or “Turkish head”. The work will take a minimum of time when using the most ordinary base, but the result will exceed expectations.

You can start learning from hand-twisted floss threads, and then purchase more practical materials.

Some tips for choosing silver chains

Having studied the main types of weaving of silver jewelry and choosing one of them, every man should take into account several nuances when buying a chain.

  1. Human complexion. For people with a thin build, narrower and thinner chains with small links are better suited. Men of large build should choose thick, bulky chains. A short neck can be visually lengthened with a longer silver jewelry.
  2. The presence or absence of any object on a silver chain. Often a pendant, cross or medallion is hung on a chain. They add more weight to the chain, causing it to wear out faster and potentially break. It is not advisable to choose twisted or lightweight products for such items. But ideal for wearing a cross or pendant would be strong chains with armored or anchor weaving.

How to weave bracelets from laces

Laces are an excellent material for weaving bracelets. These can be thick or thin laces, fabric and leather, laces of a wide variety of colors and textures. You can use as many laces as you like in one bracelet. A little tip: don't forget about the right color combinations and try not to overload the composition with ten different laces. Below in the photo you can see techniques that are perfect for beginners: Sometimes bracelets made of laces alone look rough, then they should be diluted with delicate and romantic beads: A bracelet made of leather will look stylish and fashionable. Just take some leather laces or ropes and make a simple but elegant braid:

Master class on weaving a simple bracelet

To create a simple shamballa bracelet with your own hands you will need the following materials:

  • 9-11 beads with a diameter of 8-12 mm;
  • 2 beads with a diameter of 6-8 mm;
  • nylon thread 30 cm long and 0.8 mm thick;
  • two pieces of nylon thread 1.2 mm thick, 1 m and 60 cm long, respectively.

Before starting work, make sure that all beads can be strung on the selected thread. The work is carried out in stages, using a square knot.

Secure a 30 cm long thread to the pillow with a pin: this is our base. The meter thread is the working thread, we pass it under the warp so that 50 cm remains on each side, and tie the first flat knot.

Next, for reference: the working thread on the left is No. 1, on the right - No. 2.

Step 1. We draw thread No. 1 over the base. We pass No. 2 above No. 1 and under the base.

We draw No. 2 up to the left, into the loop of thread No. 1: it turns out that No. 2 passes under No. 1. Tighten.

Step 2: Now #1 is on the right and #2 is on the left. We draw No. 1 over the base. We pass No. 2 above No. 1, and under the base. We pass No. 2 up into the loop to the right of the warp thread.

We tighten it. The first square knot is ready.

Step 3. Using the same principle, we knit 4 more knots or more if you are planning a long bracelet. We move the bead to the last knot, tie another one, fixing it in one place.

Lace baubles: straight weave patterns

If you want to make a bracelet using straight weaving, take several laces of different colors as a basis.

Next, we fasten the ends of the laces and begin to make a series of knots to the right and left (we do this in one color). Then we weave another lace and repeat the knotted pattern the same number of times. As a result, you will get a beautiful product made from different colors.

In a word, stock up on plenty of laces, be patient, and don’t be afraid to experiment using a variety of lace bracelet weaves.

Anchor

Weaving in this way resembles an anchor chain. Oval or round rings are alternately connected to each other so that each link is perpendicular to the other. High-quality products must have smooth and neatly sawn edges. Anchor weaving has subtypes:

  • “Double anchor” - connects not one, but two adjacent rings;
  • “Aurora”, “Hawaiian” - fantasy weaving;
  • "Rollo" and "Chopard" - with round links.

Jewelry of this type is suitable for wearing a large pendant. It should be remembered that complex weaves look very beautiful, but they are easy to break.

The difference between full and hollow chains

There are two types of necklaces in shape and design. Hollow accessories are created using hollow wire. Despite the “airiness” of the decoration, its weight is insignificant. This makes it convenient. Unlike the previous option, full-weight accessories are more expensive and often heavier. They are more durable and strong, made from the same material.

Hollow chains look light and voluminous.
