Terraria: Everything You Need to Know About Oasis Biomes

Gems grow into gem trees - a great way to farm gold and get gems early in the game. Here's how to start a successful Gemcorn farm.

Gems are a unique tree sapling introduced in the Terraria 1.4 Journey's End update. Gem grains are basically acorns that are combined with a gemstone and then planted to grow a gem tree.

This allows players to collect gems from trees, which is ideal for the early game. You can grow Gem Trees from any gemstone: Amber, Amethyst, Diamond, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz. Here's how to grow gem trees in Terraria 1.4.

How to grow precious trees

Growing gem trees is a great way to get gems early in the game, and it saves you time searching cave walls for glowing gems. It may take a little longer, but you can use gems to craft a gem hook or even a gem staff, one of the best weapons for mage builds in the early game.

Gems are made from one gem and one acorn. For example, one amethyst and one acorn, made by hand. You don't have to be near a craft station.

The gems are then planted underground and eventually grow into a gem tree of the appropriate type. The gem tree will drop zero to five gems of the type you planted, as well as more gems ( zero to five ) and some stone blocks. Even though the trees look like they are made of stone, you still need to cut them down with an axe. They grow at the same rate as regular seedlings, although there are a number of conditions that must be met for the trees to grow. Here's everything you need to know.

Boss Behavior

The Queen behaves like the King - she teleports to the character, and fighting her is possible with the help of any long-range weapon. The difference is that this boss moves faster. In the final stages, the slime can fly and throw particles at the player that cause damage.

If the boss takes damage, he summons three types of assistants, who, in turn, shoot crystals. After making a few jumps, Queen Slime can proceed to the following types of attacks:

  • repeat attack: after standing still for a few seconds, will launch 6 gel balls at the player. You can reflect them using blocks;
  • An alternative to throwing balls is to jump on the player, which causes great damage to the latter.

In the second phase, depending on how much HP the queen slug in the terraria has, the slime acquires wings and flies up. At the same time, her AI changes like this:

  • gel balls will only fly at the character;
  • The slime will float above the player in an attempt to crush them.

The minions summoned by slime can be truly dangerous. They fill the battlefield with projectiles and are able to deal with the enemy very quickly, so killing minions is always a priority.

How deep should gemstones be planted?

We recommend that you read other guides on popular games tattoo-mall.ru. We'll tell you about secrets and tricks that you can use in games to your advantage. And also about useful and interesting stories in video games.

Precious grains must be planted underground or in any deeper biome . Sometimes you can even find natural spawning of Gems in the Cave layer, but this is quite rare.

You need a wide open space with plenty of room for trees to grow. Light does not affect tree growth at all, so you can place torches to illuminate the area if you wish. Clearing a large area may take time, but you can plant any type of precious tree.

Can precious grains grow on the surface?

Precious grains do not grow on the surface. They must be planted in the "Underground", "Cave" or "Underworld" layers.

All the critters, drops & Items that can only be found in Oasis biomes

Oasis Critters

Players should be sure to bring a bug net as well as a fishing rod with them to any oasis, as many unique specimens can be found here. Dragonflies and aquatic striders, which can be found in the Oasis subbiomes, typically have relatively high bait strength stats, making them ideal for catching rarer fish and items while fishing. Here is a list of all the creatures that can be found in the Oasis sub-biomes:

  • Black dragonfly
  • Orange dragonfly
  • Yellow dragonfly
  • Water Strider
  • Golden Water Strider
  • Pupa (fish)
  • Grebe (bird)

Are the gems worth it?

Gems are useful early in the game for obtaining large amounts of gems , which can be used to craft a gem staff or collect gems to sell for gold. Since you'll need a lot of gold to get into Hard mode (like buying Leaf Wings), it's a good idea to create even a small Gemcorn farm early on.

Remember that gems will sell for the same price as the corresponding gems. This way, even if you don't want to plant more gems, you can still use the excess gems to make a stable profit.

Why aren't my gems growing?

Gem trees require a special set of conditions to grow.

  • They need to be planted in the underground layer or layer below.
  • They must be planted on stone blocks .
  • Light levels do not affect the growth of gemstones at all. Don't worry about placing torches or not placing torches.
  • You must place Gemcorn seedlings at least three blocks apart from each other , otherwise they will not grow.
  • The ideal space above a gem seedling is 16 blocks for maximum growth. If less than 16 blocks, the tree will grow very slowly, if at all. Less than 16 blocks of space above a sapling will also cause smaller trees to grow, yielding fewer gems and gems.

Drop

What the Slime Queen drops can give the player many additional abilities and perks.

Here's the full list of drops:

  1. The player will definitely receive from 6 to 15 coins, about 75 jelly balls, flying gelatin, and a crowned slime relic.
  2. With a 33% chance, the Dissonance Hook is guaranteed, as well as the Crystal Assassin's clothing (shirt, pants or hood).
  3. 25% chance of getting a gelatinous saddle and a royal delicacy.
  4. In 14% of cases, the player will become the owner of a staff, dagger or mask of the defeated boss.
  5. 10 percent of lucky winners will win the Queen Slime trophy.

Tips for the Best Gem Corn and Gem Tree Farm

Growing gems can be a bit of a hassle if you don't set things up properly, which begs the question: Why aren't these gems growing!? " is common. Here are some tips to help you get started.

  • The further the better . While the gems should be three blocks away, at least cutting down a very large underground farm would probably be the best option. Just like trees on the surface, the further apart the seedlings are, the more likely they are to grow faster.
  • Diamond and amber fetch the highest price of all gemstones , so you may prefer these gemstones if you are using gemstones for gold mining.
  • You can cover the entire Underground Farming cave with background walls to prevent mobs from spawning. You just need to leave gaps behind the trees like a normal cave wall, if you don't do this the trees won't grow. Some mobs will still spawn even if you replace the background wall, but much less if you just leave the cave as is.

Suitable equipment

She is a rather difficult boss, summoning quite a few “minions” to fight the enemy. Defeating a slime is not an easy task, but it can be done. In order to kill her, you need to collect the following items:

  • titanium or adamantite armor - it is better to give preference to titanium, as it causes more damage when used;
  • Cthulhu shield - to obtain it, you use the summoner of the eye of Cthulhu, who must be defeated;
  • wings;
  • Archer emblem – knocked out of the Wall of Flesh and increases damage with ranged weapons;
  • Bow of Daedalus - dropped by Holy Wannabe;
  • iron skin potion;
  • speed potion;
  • regeneration potion;
  • a jar of Ichor to reduce the armor of mobs and the boss himself;
  • flowers that release stars from the sky and damage the boss.
